Traffic, traffic, traffic ....
Today I hit the worst traffic ever since I joined the new company. Normally it takes me 25 minutes to the work. Today, it took me over two hours. There's a huge overturned truck just north of Rengstorf which spilled rock over the entire highway. Four of the five lanes on highway 101 were closed. At that moment I understood what Road Rage means. Without the music and podcasts in my iPod, I would definitely lose the self control to hit the cops.
Traffic information is so important. The first application I built in the company was a tool to use the Yahoo Traffic Information to guide me when to go home to avoid the traffic. However, I always forget to use it when I go to work. Someday, I will build an application which sends instant warnings SMS whenever an accident happens ...
Attached a picture taken by my coworker:
Road rage is a term used to refer to violent incidents caused primarily due to the inability to self control oneself and oneself's driving, which thus causes accidents or incidents on roadways. It is often a natural extension of aggressive driving. It is also important to note that 'road rage', or the inability to control oneself on the road, is merely a symptom of an overlying cause of not being able to control one's self and emotions; it is not the physical automobile itself that brings-out the aggressive nature of the person, it is the person themself whom, regardless of the setting, fails to control their temper.
